Pretty well all third and fourth gen f-bodys are the same basic chassis design. Second gen is a little better. First gen is the best.

Scrap the whole idea about putting it into a stock chassis and have a tube chassis built.

chasis!?!?!?!?!?!?!? our cars dont have no freakin chasis. its sheet metalfolded together. poorly designed for anycar. so far that is my main problem with manufacturers. how are we supposed to build power when the car folds in half?

I never said it had a frame but it's still called a chassis. F-body chassis's are called unibody. At least the first and second gens had a removable front subframe. The body was bolted to it and it's stronger than third and forth gen systems especially after SFC were installed.

LOL my gokart has more of a chassis than a 3rd or 4th gen.
Your best be for a 700hp job would be a 76-81 Fbody. Pre 76 are getting pricy but 76+ are still cheap and you could get a rolling chassis to build on for $400 hell probabaly a inline 6 setup running. If I were to do it that where I would start. DONT RUIN ANOTHER 1ST GEN!!!!! All caps yes, I feel srongly about 1st gens.

I'm with SSC on this one. The second series had the heaviest floor pans, a larger front subframe and taller rear structural channels, and are best suited for adding connectors and reinforcements. The addition of a cage in the interior from the front kick area and subframes to the rear axle riser and chaannels will really stiffen the body. I've seen several second gen 'F' cars repeatedly on two wheels without a full tubular frame and they seem to take it, as long as the floor pan is not rotted out.

For that matter with SFC's and a cage, you can make almost anything take 700 hp . It's really not a problem in a third or 4th gen with good sfc's.
