Heat soak causing stuttering?

I'm noticing a lot of drivability issues with my GTA lately..

it's an 87 GTA, L98.

I recently did a CAI with the 3" PVC from good ol' home depot, with a cone filter on the end. The filter is located between the overflow tank and the radiator, in the spot where the evap canister used to reside.

I"m not sure if it's coincidental or not, but I am experiencing drivability issues.. Under part throttle (1/8->1/4 throttle) the car will stumble and sound like it's missing.

It only seems to do this after it heats up, and since it has gotten hotter lately, i've noticed it..

Is this caused from heat soak with the location of the intake? or is this some other issue?

I checked the TPS, it's good at 0.54.

My timing should be good at around 4-5 initial, I haven't shot it lately though.

I plan to check these things tonight, is there anything else I should check:

Timing
IAC
Fuel Pressure
Fuel Filter

As soon as my T-rex comes in, it will be installed in case the intank is on it's last leg.. (the fp seems fine atm, but who knows..)

I also plan to build a heat shield type contraption if I have time.. as this seems to be a heat issue.

has anyone ran into this sort of thing before? I am even CLOSE to the source of this problem?
