EGR-vacuum delay valve/check??????
EGR-vacuum delay valve/check??????
with strict CA emissions requirements......I had recently unhooked my EGR valve and forgot to reconnect it for my Smog check. oops...high polluter
As a result, the smog tech said if i hooked EGR back up and installed "vacuum delay valve" (which was explained to go between solenoid and EGR itself) that he'd pass me.
So........EGR is hooked up.......and i have what is presumably the "vacuum delay valve" but the Chevy parts dealer said he never heard of delay valve......only vacuum check valve which allows vacuum in one direction but prevents it from sucking the other direction....sounds like the same thing to me.......
so does anyone have any inclination about what this $7 part does......the semantics of it all.....and how would it benefit my emissions test?
thanks gang
and please let me know if you have installed one before
