question about wiring when i go TBI to carb on new motor

ok im hoping to get a lo5 this summer (not a real performer but at least its a 350 and brand new for cheap) anways...how can i do away with the wiring harness completely? can i get a one wire alternator and run the wire to the starter? will i still have use of my gauges and techs? i dont want that huge wiring harness there unless it has to be. i guess it will tho so the heater motor will run and everything. does anyone have engine pics after TBI to carb swap? that may help alot

The safest way is to just tuck the harness under the passenger fender. This is what I did and all my gauges work fine, not to mention the fuel pump and VATS on my key. I went from TPI to carb. The only thing that you have to do is wire your fans different. Im not sure the best way so I wont give you bad advice.

my fan is on a switch right now anyways so that should work fine. i rarely have to flip the switch anyways. im really wondering about the starter wires, alternator wires, and battery wires and stuff thats really important like that

What I did is left everything alone and just hid the harness. Everything will start just fine. You will need a new distributor that is not computer operated and just hook up the ignition line from the harness (should be red or pink). Other than that you will need a mallory regulator if you plan to keep your stock fuel pump. Call Summit tech. Those guys are great. 1-330-630-0240
