Aluminum heads question???
I recently bought a set of Trick Flows 23 degree heads (aluminum). My question is, can I use FEL PRO 1094 .015 compressed head gaskets with this head? I read some where that aluminum heads need "special" head gaskets. Any comments?

There are a couple of thoughts on this...
Aluminum will act as an anode to virtually all other metals
except zinc and magnesium and so will always tend to
sacrifice itself (as a battery anode).
Sooo... "special gaskets" are either non metalic or
are coated with zinc.
As to whether you can use FEL PRO 1094 .015 gaskets...
Sorry... Don't have a set...

It's true that aluminum heads do need a special gasket. The usual head gasket is a FelPro 1010. It is .037 inches thick. The difference is that gaskets designed for an aluminum head use a copper wire ring instead of steel. A normal head gasket designed for an iron head will cut a groove into the aluminum in a ring around the combustion chamber.
