hey i recently purchased a 1984 T/A and am in the process of restoring it, ive come across a problem. My rear hatch wont open with the use of the key as the lock is broken, is there any other way i can get it open so that i can change my rear lightbulbs?

 

fold down the back seat and use a grinding wheel to cut a hole in the center of the plastic panel that covers the latch for the hatch. remove bolts that hold latch assembly to the body of the car and now open your hatch.
