I bought a 88 formula on saturday night and it has some small problems I need to figure out.

problem 1

Figured out part of problem no. one bad part is I haven't I haven't figured out the other part.

Problem 2

I went to check the timing on the car and I couldn't find a timing tab It doesn't have a timing tab on the car and it also has a small diameter very thick harmonic balancer ???? This engine should have a small diameter narrow balancr on it if I am correct that is at least what my gta has on it. What engine does this type of balancer come on I have my reasons to believe that the engine has been rebuilt because it doesn't smoke in the least bit on startup and I found a recept for a felpro full gasket set. I am really confused by this engine it does have serpenten belt on it and the crank pulley looks more shallow then the one for my gta which is a one piece rear main seal block like the one on the 88 should be and I don't think the one piece rear main seal blocks take the type of balancer that this engine has on it now. If you have any incite into this problem I would be really interested in I am thinking that the outer ring on this balancer has sliped and I dont' know if I should put the narrow balancer that I have as an extra or if I should get the same style balancer on it that it has now....

Edit does the truck one piece rear main block use a thick, small diameter harmonic balancer?
