parking break problem
for some reason my parking brake light stays on when the handle is all the way down, she still moves when it's on, but i can tell the brakes are still being depressed because the pedal got very squishy. could it be something preventing the handle from going all the way down? if so how would i go about getting that part of the console off so i can see in there. thanks.

There is a microswitch on the parking brake assembly that controls the light. It is mounted on thisl flimsy little bracket that gets bent after enough use. I had enought trouble with it that I just yanked it while I was doing my MegaShifter.
It might be a little different on the Camaro, but youshould have to take out 4 screws to remove the console.
2 are in the ashtray, at the front, and
2 are in the storage box under the armrest.
You will also want to pull off the shift handle and the cover on the parking brake to make it easier to get the console out of the car

That same brake light will come on if there was a substantial difference between the front and rear brake line pressures.
I little piston inside the proportioning valve will slide towards the side with low press making the light come on.
If your brakes are squishy, that's probably what's casuing the light to come on.
It's easy to check. Simply disconnect the wire going to the top of the proportioning valve (just below master cyl).
If the light goes out with wire disconnected, you need to bleed your brakes.
Some of the older proportioning valves had a reset button on the back of the valve.

Also when a master cylinder goes it will usually affect the proportioning valve and make the parking brake light come on.
If your brakes are properly bled, see if you can push the brake pedal to the floor with the engine running. If you can then its time for a new master cylinder and lots more brake bleeding.
