Presuming all maintenance is current, you could skip the following list:

Oil and filter change to synthetic (10HP gain and longer engien life);

Replace the fuel filter every 24,000 miles;

Synthetic gear oil in differential (with posi additive is so equipped);

Replace the oxygen sensor every 30,000 miles;

Wheel bearing repack;

Full suspension, chassis, body lube (silicone on bushings, seals, latches, door and roof gaskets, everything in the shop service manual every 15,000 miles);

Transmission flush (to clean oil out of converter as well), filter change, new synthetic oil;

Cooling system flush and refill. A good excuse to change to a 180°F thermostat, too;

Replace belt and old hoses;

Like I mentioned, you've probably already kept that schedule up. In that case, there are some other reasonably priced things you could do:

Convert to AFPR (great on S/D cars for finer tuning);

Port the plenum, intake runners, and intake base;

Change to a free-flowing cat converter and exhaust;

180°F thermostat and fan control;

Install a new roller cam kit (cam, valve springs, lifters, timing chain). This will net more gain than the exhaust system for sure;

Change to a smaller (faster and firmer) servo on the transmission;

If you still have energy/cash left over, think about a higher stall speed torque converter.

I'd get headers and cat-back first. I don't see a need for SFC just yet. I know my car is still fine, but they're coming.

Also, skip the B&M shift kit, it's junk. It does nothing to fix the problems with the 700R4. Get the TransGo Kit, it's the only REAL shift kit.

I'd suggest the Hooker cat-back, paidd $200 for mine, needed some fab to work, the direct bolt up kind is about $260. Sound clip of it is in the signature.

I have a 305 TPI engine and I have the following mods planned.
- Hooker Headers
- Hooker catback
- K&N filters
- Airfoil
- AFPR
- corvette servo
- Transgo shift kit
- 180 degree stat
- SFC
- STB
- custom ram air (maybe)
- High performance wires

If I were u I would take the car into a high performance garage and get a complete tune up. Make sure it is well done. That should help alot.
