diagnostic EGR disable
diagnostic EGR disable
My engine has been hesitating on me, after it gets warm. I've replaced the plugs, the wires, the rotor, cap, and the o2 sensor. So now I would like to see if the issue is with my EGR valve. (which I think, b/c awhile ago it gave me code 32 errors, which it now doesn't anymore even though I never touched it).
Is there any easy way to disable the EGR system (a vacume line to pull or something), that way I can drive around and see if the car acts any differently? Because I can't just replace the valve, as I've replaced so much other crap in this car, that I'm running out of money,s o I'd like to test it first.
(Sorry a/b the confusing wording of the message, I've been in the garage fighting w/ my o2 sensor al day)

Most times I've seen EGR fail, the valve sticks partially open or totally shut. Either way, removing vacuum service won't do much in the way of helping diagnose it.
Best way to diagnose is to remove the EGR and inspect it. Valve should be shut, then should open when you apply vacuum via a MityVac or similar.
