BTW, my Mufflex system will be going on my '91 Firebird - I'm installing a 430HP SB Chevy 400.

the Y pipe is a real bear to put on right
Its really 6 sections of pipe that have various curves each that have to be at the perfect angle to give maximum clearance. The Y (actually the seventh piece), is really not the problem. ITs the head pipes and the sections that go under the crossmember.
the best thing to do is get the crossmember sections to be within about .5 inch of the crossmember and you will have about 3inches.. not much more than that though.
Its a flowmaster 4" two chamber race muffler.
thanks
Supercomps are already rusting even though they were coated..

Thanks for the info.
I didn't realize the Y-pipe came in several pieces. I was hoping that I could clamp the kit together and have it welded up at a muffler shop. Looks like I'll be driving to the muffler shop with open headers, instead.

That car sound real tough with that exhaust,
what are you running for a motor? it sounds pretty built whatever it is.. I kinda wish i would of done something like that after hearing yours, ive got a 3 inch cat-back flowmaster american thunder with hedman headers hooked up to a 406 small block chevy, havent got it all together to hear it yet though.

its a 400 with brodix track 1 heads and a cammotion hydroller
The Y pipe comes with some wide clamps that help locate it but its still a pain.
my motor
I have not had it on the dyno yet..but it really does not run like it should. It just does not pin you in the seat. but.. i think I might have overgeared it with the 4.10s.
I have just purchased two different intakes and it will be going to a dynojet soon and maybe to an engine dyno shortly after that.
Its about 10.8 to 1 with a flat top, with a lightweight rod and piston. The cam is about 238 intake-596" lift and 247 ext with 603 lift on a 109lsa.
thanks
