what is the record for the longest running post with the most replies? lol
well if your engine keeps going "clunk, clunk, clank, tick, tick, clunk, clank" then i say it is NOT running. and if it didn't do that before then heck it's their fault. my engine ran after all the oil drained out of it and they (dealer) replaced the oil. but it went "clunk, clunk, clank..." if you need some paperwork on my case then i can get some stuff saying that MY oil guys failed to do their job and they are fessing up to it and replacing my engine.

What you should have done in the beginning was get a video camera or one of those little cassette recorders that fit in your pocket and record the sounds it made and the statements they made so they couldn't deny anything, my uncle did that once for a shop problem that was their fault (yes another oil change **** up) and he recorded everything on tape and in court they denied their statements but when he whipped out the tape . . . BAM!! Game. . . set . . . match! My uncle got a new motor out of it.

In the mean time I would just drive, enjoy and maintain the car normally. Have the oil and filter changed religiously and docummented. You have already logged a complaint. If the motor fails say next year, you win. Take him to court and collect your money. (They will likely settle swiftly.)
The very fact that the motor failed by it self unexpectidly
after documenting this misshap at the shop, proves they damaged your motor and are liable. Other wise you cannot "prove" that damage was done. If you take them to court now, you are going to have trouble "proving" that they actually did some damage and you've been put out as a result.
I don't know what your time limit window is, but it may be quite a long time especially since you have logged a complaint already.

I haven't thought of that!
Been on the phone for hours today trying to get more information. Maybe I will do that, fly back out, pickup my car, and drive around until the engine does go out, THEN take it to court.
Chevy dealership ive been dealing with can't get me a written statement after all. Figures.
Im going to do my research, hopefully I can do a laysuit 6-12 months later or something, that way I can get my car back soon!!!

. No its fuzzy math to quote George W. or W2 as i like to call him.
Shop fault = 100% Car owner faul = 0%.
Shop payment = 50% Car owner payment = 50%.
Looks like bad math.....
