I pulled the shaft out of the distributor to replace the magnetic pick up coil. I was cleaning the magnet that is on the shaft, is their some sort of isolator between the magnet and the shaft? Getting a hard substance out of there or is this just from the rust.

Can I put a light coat of dialectic grease on it?

Never mind, it has a crack in it, so time for a new one.
