I am going to go to the scrap yard tomorrow to scrounge for a 350 SB out of a 3rd gen camaro/bird and I need toknow how to read the code so that I know I am getting a 350 and not a 305. What letter or number varifies that the engine is a 350?

Go here for casting # www.mortec.com it is a little tough to see casting # on a block still in the car.

 

if it's in the car still the 8th digit on the vin is the engine code. letters are 305s and a 8 is a 350, if i recall correctly.
