How the heck do I take out the starter coil?
Ok, first, you'll have to bear with me cuz I dont know the proper terms for everything. Instead of proper terms it will be "thingy" and "hootie-ky" and "doohicky". But anyways, on with the story and question. Long story short, I was driving crazy and car dies right next to, get this, a FORD dealership. So I walked in and asked for someone to help me. He comes over, tryes to jump start it, that don't work, so he pulls the cover off of the starter coil. well, the starter coil has a doohicky on top that looks like the top of a sparkplug that isn't supposed to come out. Well, it did, and the little hootie-ky that is under it was burnt in half. It looked like a metal rod or somethin, but it was broke and wasnt supposed to be. The top wasnt supposed to come off either I don't think, but im sure its not supposed to be burnt in half. So I bought a new starter coil and went to put it in and couldn't figure out for the life of me how to get the damn thing out. It's nto screwed in, but it looks like rivets or something. I was also told that most GM's don't have external starter coils and that they are usually in the coil where the sparkplugs are at. But I'm rambling again. The question I got is HOW IN THE HE** DO I GET THAT DAMN THING OUT????? Thanx for any info

#1: Why are you asking this on the Body and Interior forum??? That's like asking about a radio on the transmission area.
#2: It's called an ignition coil, not a starter coil. Search the general tech forum for more info, you'll definately find it!

ok, ok, first, I realized that I posted in the wrong forum after I posted but I didn't feel like changing it, and second, I have had starter coil in my head for some f*cked up reason...probably because my starter is out too, and I keep putting the 2 together. But I am going to search the general tech forum now, so so long
