Topic says it all.
How long would you figure it should take to pull the heads, install a cam and springs and then reinstall and break it in?

i figure it would be bad valve seals.................
sorry to say xeno, but it looks like my thoughts were correct
that explains your lack of power, because you probably have a total loss of compression.................................

hey Eric........is that your only car? or do you have a ride when its being worked on?
reason i ask is, i see alot of 305 parts pretty cheap on ebay...........it would just take some time though...........
i figure we could prolly do the engine/trans swap for about $1500 if we shop around wisely..............................but we'll also need a cherry picker............

Hmm, well that sucks...
I have yet to get a compression guage on it. Yesterday I got a flat and some guy was trying to kill me (remember the scrawny kid in White Castle was saying how this kid Rich was pissed at me, I found out yesterday he might've had a gun and was going after me, all is well now though). Today, after waking up late, waiting for a ride and for the tire shop, I found out it was the valve that had loostend up. She's good to go now, but I have to be out at work soon.
Soooo...
I think I have a friend with an engine hoist, I'll have to give him a call. Also, I could theoretically drive my step-moms Hyundai wagon around if I needed to.
Why not just pull the heads, have them boiled, slap some valve grinding compound on the valve and relap them in place. Put new springs on and throw a cam in there? Certainly much less work than an entire engine/trans swap. And cheaper.
We'll see though, when I know anything I'll let you know.

yeah thats the biggest problem the price of a v8 swap
used engine: $500
used turbo 350: $400
turbo 350 kit: 100
hopefully we'd be able to find a complete used engine with accessories and all...............be so much easier and cheaper
radiator: $100
AFPR: $100
good news on my car: i found my oil leak
i was going to do a compression test on it today, but instead i checked my fuel pressure at startup with the key in the on position: it was 45 PSI, so that sounds correct
the ****ing oil leak was actually a hole in my oil filter
hmmmmm, give me like a day notice, and stop by my work at 3:30 on a weekday, i'll borrow my friends compression tester gauge, and we can do your car
i'll also check your fuel pressure
