Rings

Whats the longest some of you rebuilders have seen it take for rings to "seat" ?

I'm passed my break in miles and oil changes and I think somewhere around 2,500 miles, and at higher RPM's I'm getting some blow by...

The valve seals were fine when the heads were installed (brand new).

never did a leak down on unfired engine or recently fired to know. interesting question. i always figured the rings seat within 30 minutes, i always use moly rings, chrome i figure would take lot longer.

I assumed the end of the break in period would be more than enough. Didn't expect this one

i always let a new engine heat and cool several times and never keep it at same speed for long in the first 30 minutes. don't know if it helps or hurts but that's how i've done a lot of engines without problems.
