GTA jerking real bad around 1500-2000 rpm
Okay, let see how well I can explain this. First time I took the car out after it has been sitting for a while, it would jerk real bad in gear at around 1500-2000rpm, jerking bad meaning it would chirp the wheels everytime it would jerk while you were trying to take off. It only does this up to 2000 rpm after that it is fine, but as soons as it hits 2000rpm it will start jerking again. Well, I figured it was probably bad gas, so I ran it empty and put about $10 bucks worth of 92 octane in it, and it ran fine the rest of the way home, not displaying any of the symptoms as before. On to the next episode.
The car had sat for another month or so, and now I was on my way to SLP Day in Columbus. Full tank of gas, and some fuel system cleaner, well it started again, I thought well bad gas again, it's been sitting for a month now. Anyway, it would run fine on the highway at about 70-75mph pulling about 2500-3000rpm, but when we would hit traffic, at 60-65mph again at 2000rpm, it would start jerking and act like it was missing. So to make a long story short, I ran that gas out, filled it back up with fresh gas, it didn't act up for about 30+miles on the highway, running at 60mph and 2000rpm, but after that 30+miles I got off the highway and it started doing it again. I am stumped, I think if it was an engine problem, that it would do it while it was sitting in park and revving the engine up to 2000rpm and holding it there it runs smooth as a baby's ***, but as soon as you throw it in drive and start to take off it jerks enough to give you whip lash. All opinions are appreciated! Any ideas guys?
