T-Top Locking Mechanism

Not engine, but definitely tech!

Anyways, the locks on my t-tops don't work. Not good, especially considering how easy it is to just pull one off through the window and break in.

I took the plastic cover off so i could see the mechanism for the handle and the lock... played around with it, and i can't figure out how the lock is supposed to work. When i turn the key, the actual lock turns 90*, but nothing else moves to block the t from being opened.

If anyone has a working lock on their t-top and has 10 mins, pull it off and take the peice of plastic off (3 philips screws and one torx on the handle) and grab a pic of how the mechanism is supposed to work??

-- Or if anyone has knowledge of how the heck it's supposed to be, please post here!!

Thanks,

When you turn the lock a little bar moves down and prevents the handle from opening. I switched over my locks from my original glass T-tops to a set of Lexan ones I picked up. To take it apart more, you need to drill out the rivets to get the lock out.

Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
If you operate the latching handle and watch how the rods move, you'll soon discover how the locks work to prevent the rods from moving.
