Tach doesnt work

do any of you know what i need to fix my tach gauge? it hasnt worked since i got the car, thanks:lala:

Axle/Gears: 342

Check the wire leading to the distributor, make sure it's connected.

mine came undone when I did the plug wires. it was a cream color connection.
