UPDATE!: Disabled IROC...

Hey all!

Its me Tom. Remember I had an accident with my car. Hitting the curb on a highway exit. Well, finally after all this time, almost 2 months, I had my car taken to a body shop. Now I have the estimate! ......Ready?......

$7,020.24

Thats a good enough price to make anyone go insane. But believe me I've had two months of insane-ness already.

So heres the story. I am not gonna have it fixed.

Now here's my choices.

A) I sell my car AS A WHOLE. Because the engine, tranny, and rearend are still good. All of them have 110,000 miles on them. And are still in good condition. Its a 350 (5.7ltr) engine, a 700R4 automatic transmission, and a 9 bolt 2.77 ratio rear end. And what do you think would be a good price for it?

B) I buy another top condition Camaro. That either had no engine or whatever. And drop in my Engine, and possibly my tranny and rearend, in the one I buy. And how much do you think all the work of dropping in the engine and all that cost?

-----------------

In a couple weeks, my Dad will be buying a '88 Oldsmobile Delta 88, 2dr. It only has 80,000 miles on it. That will be my car, and obviously a good commuter car, which is what I will need. So I will have a car while making a decision on my choices.

But I will want to hear everybody's great advice, and opinions towards my options, its gonna be tough. But I will have to get through it. The only thing I can say from this point, looking back at the accident, Thank *** I'm Alive. Thanks.

I would buy another car and drop your stuff into it like biker said. Then you can part out your old car and make a little of of it. Unless you can find a good car with a good engine, but still it might be easier to part out your car instead of selling it whole.

Drop your stuff in another car.

I've been debating on either restoring my camaro that has been sitting for 6 years now, or buying another car and using that one for parts.
Since your not going to fix it, I say buy another car and use yours for parts.
You can probably get one with a blown motor, for cheap money, then pull your motor, rebuild it real nice and drop it in that.
Thats my thoughts anyways.

By the way, i decided to actually fix mine up. Boy is this turning into a big project.

Yes, my vote goes towards buying a 6 cylinder car, and putting your 350 in it.
Or else, I would recommend parting the car out as much as you can. You can usually get more by selling the parts of the car seperately, than you can by just selling the thing as it is.
Good luck.

oh.. if you sell it... do it one part at a time, youll make more money overall (chop shop logic). Ill take that 9 bolt if it somehow falls out of the car and finds itself for sale.

Well guys these are my opinions of the whole, don't know too much so, critique me.

I'm really starting to look forward to gettting a newer Camaro like newer, 4th gen model. I really want stick shift, and have a newer, "less tired" 350 engine. With no more than like 70,000 miles.

I mean yes of course I could just get another RS Camaro, and drop all my stuff in it, blah blah. And that would be cool if I find a stick shift RS then I could have 350 with stick. BUT... I believe my engine is tired, and if I were to take it out, it would be a crime not to rebuild it. But I'm just not ready for that type of stuff... wouldn't even know where to start.

As hard as it is to say, I wanna just get it out of my hair. Be free, and relaxed.

I will be owning an old Oldsmobile with only 80,000 miles, well taken care of. So I was thinking on spending some money on a good sound system, and "thump" around in it. That feels like the best thing to do. And to look forward to buying a newer Camaro!!!

Buy another car and drop all your running gear into it an then part
out the rest of your old car.
That,s what i would do anyway.
