how do u.....

how do u do a vacume test? becuz i asked the mechanic at work about problems ive been havin and he said do a vacume test and see what it gives me. and i told him about the problem i had and the things ive replaced and he told me aboutthe vacume test. so if anyone can tell me how to do a vacume test thanx.

You take a vacuum gauge and a plastic t-fitting and plumb it into a vacuum hose and look at the gauge.

13 is usually a good reading.

13 at idle is atrocious. It should be somewhere in the neiborhood of 17-20 on a stock motor

so i should spend the 30 or 40 bucks for the vacume tester at work and use that?

yeah... or you can use a vacuum pump, too. Mine has a bult in vacuum gauge so i can use it to test vacuum as well as test vacuum activated devices. I got mine from sears for around the same price.
