Is this normal??
While looking for all elsuive could be vaccum hose leak I peered down at where my plug wires went into the block and I could see a little sparkhopping off the side to the block.. it happens on two other wires on the other side too.. (i can't see the rest).. but is that supposed to happen.. my dad said its not supposed to jump to the block like that.. I know the guy before me said he changed the wires.. so they can't be all that old.. actually I think their new.. I have the reciept for them... what would cause it to do that?

Zirt,
Your father is correct. Get a set of 8mm Packard wires, and that won't happen any more. Some of the aftermarket wires LOOK pretty, but lack the secondary insulation layer and insulation drain conductors you'll find on premuim wire sets.

Definitely not normal. You have defective wires. New defective wires maybe, but defective just the same.
I prefer Taylor wire myself for performance applications; but the stock wires like Vader suggests are just fine for a stock car, and will last 100,000 miles with proper installation and care, and are the easiest to install - just take them out of the box and put them on exactly like the original ones were, no measuring or crimping required.
