HEI ignition problems

I got my car hooked up toa tune-up machine the other day. and found out that my igintion system was being worked hard. so......... I just replaced the coil, wires, cap and rotor today. and I hooked the car back up and it still is being worked hard. could it be the module? what exactly does that do? thanks

Also by working hard i mean taking more voltage that it should to fire. and I'm not running lean eithere cause I know that could do it.

sounds like the control module to me. Also i would check the spark plugs, to make sure the gap is right. That won't make a big problem, but it would also make the module work harder.

the gap is at .040 stock is supposed to be .035 so I don't think it should be that hard on it.
