hard start
ok,
i made a post before stating that my car wouldn't start. vader gave me a couple of suggestions, and after toying with some stuff (i gave it a tune up, changed the coolant temp sensor, managed to get it to start after a long time) i managed to get it to start on occasion. What i have found out today is that if i spray some throttle body cleaner into the Throttle body, it starts right up on the first try. After running it for about a minute, i turn it off, and try again but no start. I realize that this is probably because ether in the can is helping combustion, but what would this siginfiy as a problem?
I searched a lot of the forum, and checked out most of the common problems that people suggest you fix, but i was wondering if i could some how limit it down with this new finding.
Also, does anyone know how to use WinALDL? I have a laptop, the program, and i tried making the wire in the diagram that comes with the program but i can't seem to get any info from the computer. I"m wondering how i would know if it is connected properly (does something blink or something when it communicates?), any anything else helpful about this program would be good.
Any help on either of these two subjects would be much appriciated.

right... after some more research.... starting fluid means fuel problems? i'm not getting any codes, and after it starts it seems to run fine though a little rough under 1000 rpm. would it be possible to have a bad 02 sensor but not get a code? (i'm really hopint it is something cheap here
) i think i'll go back out and check the fuel pressure again, from what i know it primes up to 42 psi but maybe it has a regulator leak or something that i just didn't notice the first time.
well, back outside to mess with it some more.
still welcomeing suggestions.

O2 doesn't do jack until the car it's ?600 deg?
Sounds like you really need to look deeply into your fuel and ignition. Maybe your pump's going bad. Maybe you're getting a weak spark.
I would look at your ignition first.
Break out the DVM and go to town.

hmmm...... i'm kinda don't think it is my ignition system. I pretty much rebuit the whole damn thing during my tuneup (new module, pick-up coil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor) and the only thing left is the ignition coil. i used the Digitial Multi-Meter on it and it tested out good (by the standards of the 1989 service manule). Short of the ESC module and the coil i would think everything is ok. How would i know if the ESC is going?
Could it be possible that the injectors are dirty? Or maybe bad gas.... stupid comuter... could throw me a code to chase or something....

I guess it could be either/both bad gas dirty injectors. I'd sure hate for you to have to pull the injectors, get them cleaned, and find you still have the problem. It'd be a good idea.
I'm running out of ideas.
