I bought the Radio shack relay and wired it all up as per the diagram. My reverse lights will come on in reverse now, but it'll start in any gear and the trunk button won't pop the hatch

When I plugged in the stock box and moved the tab by hand it worked like it should.

What's the deal with it?

As a sidebar- The shifter works great. They need to work on the ease of installation area though (I bought a kit for a camaro, I shouldn't have to go to 3 parts stores and a junkyard to get what I need to install it).

 

hmmmm i didn't have to run any extra wiring or relays to get mine to work. i just did the splices like the directions said. they didn't say anything about a relay in mine.

 

Mine has some extra wires to deal with idle in park conditions or something along those lines, there's a big diagram on the back of the instructions about how to hook them up Followed 'em to the letter of course, but bleh!
