code 32
tonite my girl and i were cruising down the freeway....we were doin about 65 at a sustained rpm for 10 mins so and the SES light came on....it stayed on for about 10 mins and when we went down a little grade in the road i lifted off the gas a little to keep the same speed and it went off....we continued driving for another 50 or 60 miles and it didnt come back on....while the light was on the car didnt run any different the power was all there no hesitation stuttering no crackin poping from the exhauust....when we got home i put an autozone code key in the aldl port to retreive the code....it came up with a 32...what does a code 32 mean?....i have a 650 mile drive the day after tomorrow so let me know what this is all about
Code 32 Fixed
Try looking on this sites "Technical" pages on the home page -
There is a very useful article called "The Lowdown on Code 32" by GM Tech.
I have just got rid of Code 32 by replacing the MAT Sensor & the Temp Sensor that screws into the EGR valve although I did replace the EGR Solenoid but that didn't change anything.
Or do a search on Code 32 - There is a raft of posts on the subject.

Intermittent Code 32
F-Crazy,
Glad you made the trip!
Ain't that little SES Orange Light a whole bunch of fun!
Sounds like an intermittent Code 32 after doing 650miles without it lighting up.
It really can only be a few things if you did read the article "The Lowdown On Code 32" article by GM Tech on the Tech Articles Page.
Like I said, my 32 went away when I renewed the MAT Sensor (Under the main plenum intake - scews in upside down) and the Temp Sensor (that screws into the EGR Valve itself).
I did renew the EGR solenoid before doing the above but it didn't make any difference.
I suggest that you certainly reset your ECM to clear the Codes stored in there but you should get that idle down first.
(I am presuming that you are Tpi powered for the following?)
I would reset your minimum air (idle setting) and also reset/check your TPS (Throttle Position Switch).
Again, both these procedures are in the "Technical Articles" page.
You will need a Digital Multimeter (DMM) for the TPS setting/checking and access to a Calibrated Tachometer or best guess with your Gauge Cluster Tachometer (not as accurate but probably adequate)
Once you have done the basics you can only go from there.
HTH
Just going to replace my Radiator Hoses (Top & Bottom) because my lower hose sent my coolant on vacation all over my drive, at least it didn't happen on the highway though!
