Hesitation

For quite a while now I have not been able to just stomp on the gas pedal with out it hesitating, just bogs way down almost to dieing on me, for a second or two. I just got a tune up on my '86 305 Iroc w/ 700-R4 and it still does it. I had heard that getting a fuel pressure regulator could help if the fuel pressure is low--could that be it???

Thanks very much in advance for any help.

The car is completly stock except for K&N, air foil, and screen removal

exact same thing happens on my 89 firebird, and it gets to be a real pain in the ***. I've heard that it is because the car is running too rich - - not sure how valid it is, just something to consider until someone posts w/ an answer

I can vouch for the running rich cause for the bog......i have a crapped out q jet that i cant afford to replace and everytime i gun it......it does that exact thing......all i know is that my carb is dumping fuel and im running pretty rich(already tried all the fixes.......its just replacement time).........i would guess that that may have something to do with what you describe....

good luck with it at any rate

I replaced my fuel filter with my tune up which was about 1500 miles ago.

I only have this hesitation when it is at idle. When I step on it when I am already moving and up around 1500-2000 rpms it is fine.
