anyone who owns a harwood fiberglass hood please help!

Hey guys,

I purchased a harwood 4" cowl induction hood and I really like it, the only problem is that 1" edge around the sides that makes it not flush with the fron of the car. What have you guys done to make it fit just right? I trimmed the sides down with a carbide dremel blade to about 1/4 inch but I am a little weary of just hacking the front off without finding out exactly what anyone else had done.

Thanks for the help!

Ben

mine is a lift off hood. it's been a long time since i did it now, about all i remember doing is triming it to fit. it doesn't really flow into the nose like the factory hood, there is still a lip on the front edge of mine. i believe when i got it close i used a block and 40 or 60 grit paper to work it down with instead of a cut off wheel.

I used a circular sander with 36 grit onit to get the sides and front grinded down so the hood would fit right. it still isnt perfect and i doubt anyone has a perfect fitting fiberglass hood.

thanks for the reply,

I took some 60 grit to the edges today after cutting off about 1/4 inch and got it to fit a little better, it is really good except the front edge is a little high, not too bad though. I guess i am satisfied with the end result. Shouldn't be to noticeable after I get the car painted black.
