took off smog, throws code....

ok i gutted my smog pump instead of taking it off and having to re-route my belt, well the hose that comes off of the back of it has two electrical plugs that go too it, well we took it off too, and so the check engine light comeos on and off, thats the only thing that is making it do that ive checked, code 12, how can i make it stop lighting up? any tricks?

Those electrical connectors dont throw codes when unplugged...

Code 12 means nothing is wrong. You will always get a code 12 when you check for codes. If you don’t get a code 12 that normally means the ECM is bad. Also unplugging those smog plugs will not throw a code because the ECM has no way of telling that there unplugged and will continue to send a signal to them to active the smog solenoids. So the Service engine soon light is related to something else. See what codes you get after code 12.
