Q's about gears????
I have a few questions for who ever knows. I have a 91 Formula 5.0L TBI. I was thinking about gears. What do I have now? What is the best Ratio and brand to get. Thanks guys

For the price you can't be Richmond. I've had mine over a yr no problem.
As far what is best for you.
It really depends, if you want 1/4 performance, then you need gears matched to your powerband, mainly your cam/intake combo. With that said right now 3:42s would be best for you on a stock TBI.
Now if you want 0-60 performance or 1/8 mile, then you could go numerically higher to say 3:73s or 4:10s. But if you do a lot of highway driving 4:10s might get on your nerves.

i like richmonds, they cut a little differant to have more strength and that causes them to whine more than others. to find out what you have pull the cover and look, only 100% sure way to do it.

Do you have an automatic? If so, then put it in 3rd gear (1 down from the regular drive) and go 70 down the freeway. Whatevr the tach register, divide by 1000. For example, mine registers at 2730 RPM. So obviously I have 2.73's in the rear. Later,
