Whats the widest tire I can run with a 17x8?
Long story short I have been trying dearly for 3 months to get the Cragars. 17x8 for the front and 17x9 for the back. Someone at NTB was saying that the widest I can run the 17x8 was 24545Z17 Sumitomo HTRZ II tire.
An even longer story short im considering getting the 17x8 ROH Snypers. I would like 17x9 but no one has them in stock and cant really say if they can get it to me anytime soon Im considering just going 17x8 all the way around.
My question is, if I get (4) 17x8 Snypers, can I run the 24545Z17 Sumitomo all the way around with the Snypers? Could I go even wider yet? Would there be a better tire or size you can recommend me? Im don't fully understand the whole size thing yet
Thanks for any help

Its pretty simple. The 245 represents the width of the tire tread, 45 is the profile (the distance from the edge of the rim to the edge of the tire). 17 is the rim size. I've seen people mount a 255 on an eight inch rim, but thats as far as I'd go. Anything wider would give you problems.
