The bottom hole for the lower alternator bolt goes right into water. There is also arisk of the corner cracking.
There are aftermarket brackets you can buy to use the
"long water pump" post '69 accessories on these heads.

thanks, i was trying all over to find that link. i remember somebody posting it earlier.
is it possible to have a/c with these heads? just wondering, cause i have a 350 that im building and have a set of ported 461 heads in the garage. im wanting to put this engine in my 92' RS but id like to keep my a/c cause its hot and humid here in southeast texas. but if i cant with these heads, i wont waste time and money on them and go another route.

If your 92RS hasa a 305 or 350 it probabily has the heads i mentioned above. If you upgrade them and port them they will
perform just as good as your 461's for your purposes.
You also have the option of selling or trading off the 461's for a
performance head that does had accessory bolt holes.
A Vortec head will out perform most 461's on the street.
But that's another can o' worms.
