Needing a person that is good with the Mass Air Flow sensor

I am looking at a project & am wanting to know if any of you guys are really knowledegable about the Mass Air Flow Sensor, how it works, I am looking at doing some modding to the housing it sits in & want to know the effects of this.

If you plan on modifying the housing itself, you absolutely have to reprogram the chip. On a 350 TPI, I would not bother unless you plan on doing a whole bunch more work.

No I am not planning on removing the screen or modifing the housing
the main things im needing to know is this

1. will more air coming in cause problems
2. can the housing sit vertical instead of horizontal

I am looking into building a cold ram air setup & moving/repositioning the MAF sensor
