Bent Pushrods

Just thought I would update my roller rocker problems. Well, pulled the passenger valve cover off and few of the rockers were completely off, and 2 pushrods were bent. Damn it.

Pushrods are cheap unless you need hardened ones. Even then they are not so bad. No biggie.

It's crap like that, that is making me lose all respect for Autozone. I mean their products aren't even that great anymore.

So do you have any ideas why they bent in the first place? If not, then you should determine why they bent so you don't repeat the process and possibly do more damage next time.

The pushrods dont seem to be the problem , bending them is a symptom of a problem. Are youi using the right valvesprings? Are they the correct legnth pushrods? Something it hitting and bending the puchrods.

Cam size? Type of rockers used? Any head work for increased lift? What valve springs?

Push rods don't just bend by themselves. There has to be an interferance problem causing them to bend.

Or valve float which can be caused by overrevving (missing a shift, revving too high, etc). Not necessarily an interference problem, but a "procedural" problem.

Yeah guys, I found out why. Guess you missed my first post a few days ago. When I ordered the roller rockers, I didn't realize I got long slots that weren't SA like the stock ones.

So yeah, I learned from my mistake.
