Smoking manifold...HELP!!

I have smoke coming from the back of my passenger side exhaust manifold.

At first, I thought it was a valve cover gasket leak, so I replaced that, and started the car up.

Still blowing white smoke from the back manifold bolt area...

The smoke smells real bad too, but not like oil. Any suggestions?? Manifold Leak?

just about have to be an oil leak, or if you fixed the leak what's left of the oil burning off

sounds like your leaking coolant out the back of the manifold from the rear cross-over passage. Old burning coolant smells like crap. Tear it down and clean allt he gasket surfaces and replace the gaslets. That should fix it.

I don't know enough offhand about which smoke smells like what or what color means what, but when I had a similar problem, it was because the O-ring on the distributor was broken, making oil leak from the distributor hole onto the intake manifold. Might want to check that just to be sure...

oil burns blue smoke. coolant burns white smoke. check the afore mentioned coolant problem. thats probably your best bet.

Fixed, turns out it was a cracked heater hose dripping onto the intake manifold, around the back of the head, and onto the exhaust manifold. Thanks for your help.
