just a few questions

is there a gasket that goes between the oil pump and the engine? also, i have an oil cooler on my engine, but the little aluminum adapter thing i have sort of broke. what is that thing called? there was a circle of metal above a spring in a hole off to the side on it that shattered. can i just replace those peices? or do i have to buy a whole new part?

no gasket between the pump and cap on a SBC, you need a new oil filter adapter. go to gm parts for it, tell them what engine, car, and that you have an oil coller and they'll fix you up.

37 dollars canadian for that little peice of aluminum crap..... why is it so expensive? screw that, ill just fix the old one some how. what if i cut out a little circle of sheet metal, sand down the side(s) and replace that shattered old one? that thing shouldnt be worth even 5 bucks let alone 37...... anyways... should i use RTV sealent between my new oil pump and the engine? metal on metal gives me the no feeling......
