smoke on startup

When i start the car 86 TA, a big puff of smoke comes out the exhaust. I don't think it does it while driving, at least not that i can tell.
It's embarrassing, it's like my car farted and everyone can see it
Can someone please advise, Thanx

Valve guide seals, like every other small block Chevy that hasn't had them replaced. Very, very common. It's something you can do yourself for about $25 of parts (seals and valve cover gaskets), a tool you can "rent" for free at Auto Zone and other similar parts stores (valve spring compressor), and a piece of 3/8" nylon rope. It should take around 4 hours max. Use the "positive" type seals.

Where are the valve guide seals located?

I can just imagine the back pain now, after bending over that car for 4 hours

Inside the valve covers

It's allowed to jack the front of the car up, just don't let the jack police know you did it
