Wireing harness burned up?
I was driving home last night and saw my oil pressure gague shoot over 60 psi and pegg out. No problem Ill just put in a new sender right, Wrong. When I got home I noticed all the wires to the sender were melted and looked like a small fire was possably there. All my sender wires melted, they must have shorted and they took my O2 wire with it. What makes me think a small fire broke out was, the big wireing bundle crossing over the transmission bellhousing was melted a bit too. So now I figure Im looking for a new wireing harness for my engine. Anyone know of a good one?? Thanks!!

Somehow I have a feeling that something else happened shortly before this...
What high-power electronics were recently installed, or what other work has been done on the car's electrical system recently?
This sounds like one of the big red wires that carries battery power from the battery to the pass compartment had something short downstream of it, which fried the wiring in that harness. One good thing is, that none of the ECM's wires, including the O2 sensor wire, are in that one, because the ECM has its own harness. So, none of its wires should have been affected.
