84 Z28 5 stars leak air..

is there a common known problem that i dont know about with the 84 Z28 5 star 15" mags leaking air ? every couple weeks the pressure is donw to 15 or 20 psi, they all seem to leak at about the same rate, but mostly up front however..
i may just sell or junk the wheels and put on some steel wheels if there is no way to prevent this.

thanks for anything,

have you soaped the tires to find the leak? i use windex, it's cheap and there's always some around. if the bead is leaking you can break them down and clean the bead, maybe use a sealer on it. replace the valve cores or the whole stem if they leak.

whats wierd is that i just had the tires put on the front cuz of the same problem, but these are better tires anyways, so i dunno,,

everyone says it happens just cuz of being aluminum wheels.,

thanks

If you already had new tires put on and it still does it, its probably the valve stem. My rims do that and I know it comes from the valve stem because they bubble when i wash the car. Spray water at the valve stem and if you hear a hissing noise of some sort it could just be the valve stem.

Most places put in new valve stems when you get new tires put on. If you can't spot the leak you may want to have a tire shop remove one of them from the rim and clean it up good. You may have corrosion on the bead seating area, that happens a lot in areas where they salt the roads in the winter, or if you live very near the ocean.
