how many Liters is a 388?

title say's it all...just curious as to the volume in liters of a 388. and while im thinking about it... when someone states the liter volume of an engine...does that pertain to just one cylinder, or the the entire engine? like 5.7L is a 350, everyone know's that...but is each cylinder 5.7 liters itself, or is the colmunitive amout of all 8 cylinders equal to 5.7 liters?
thanks,
Opha

It's the whole engine displacement. I've never heard of anybody just stating per cylinder volume. Math wise, 350 cubic inches equals 5.7 liters.

388CIN = 6.3 Liter

The liter displacement is the reflection of all the cylinder volume. It's actually figured out first to be a cubic centimeter displacement and then you move the decimal place over 3 places. But to figure it out properly you need to multiply the bore and stroke by 2.54 individually; that converts imperial to metric then figure out displacement as you would normally.

1 liter equals about 61.02 cubic inches, it will convert from one to the other. its approximate.
