starter acting funny

The starter on my '85 keeps trying to turn the engine over even when the key is in the off position. Anyone know what might be causing this? Could it be a bad solinoid? I haven't noticed it when starting the car, I only noticed this happening when I was trying to bumb the engine to adjust my valves.

Yep, sounds like your solenoid is sticking.
Probably oughta replace that thing soon, before it won't unstick itself and you kill the batt/starter.
At least carry something with ya to disconnect the batt quickly until it's fixed.

That's what I thought. Can I just change the solinoid or do I have to change out the entire starter?

You can replace just the solenoid. It's easy once the starter is off the eng. Just remember to disconnect the battery before messing with any of it.
