roller cam install ?
ok, I need this cleared up for me as best as possiable... I am going to convert my sbc 400 to a roller cam. now I do understand the roller lifter situation its self, the diff in the timming chains and sprockets but, with the cams abillity to walk back and fourth I need a CAM BUTTON so my question is where does it go and which one should I buy? I am guessing it fits in the center hole of the cam sproket so the timming cover does the holding? and is there any thing I am forgetting?

That's all there is to it.
You'll need shorter push rods too; most roller lifters are about .400" taller than flat tappets, so most of them want a 7.300" push rod for a stock cam, or go up from there if you have an aftermarkeet one. It would be best to get an adjustable push rod and find the optimum length rather than trying to guess.
