Tire to wheel size......

Hi all, I need some advice for tires to fit these wheels. I have up front 15x7" Welds and in the back I have 15x8". Now I'm trying to find a good tire setup for this. I want to go as wide as I possibly can in the back with the 8's and kinda keep about a 6.0-7.0" tread base up front. Also in the back I kinda want to step up to a little taller tires, the front can stay the same. And please, I dont want a retarded lookin setup. Right now all the way around I have 215/65 and the rear sidewalls are really stretched out, looks funky. Any help would be HIGHLY appreciated, this is driving me nuts. Thanks!

Well if you want big tall tires in the rear i would get 265/60/15's or 275/60/15's. For the front i would get 225/60/15's

Just go here.........

http://gs.tolan-hoechst.com/tirecalc.htm

Put in what you have, what you want, and it'll do all the work for you. It'll tell you the width in inches, how tall the tire is, etc.

Just keep trying different sizes until you get the combo you want.

I'd say if you want them real close to the same height, but fatter in the back, then use the 215/65/15's up front, and use 245/60/15's in the rear. They're only ~1/2" taller and just over 1" wider. It sounds like that's what you want since your rear wheels are 1" wider also.

If you go any wider, such as 255 or 265, then the tire is gonna start "sinking in" as the sidewall gets closer to the wheel. IMO that also looks retarded.

If you do wanna go taller, just get a 245/65/15. It's the same width but about 1 1/2" taller than the 215/65/15 that's on there now.
