5 trouble codes at once!!!
Hi, my car was fine yesterday, but today it's throwing 5 trouble codes!! Well, it wasn't fine, it was throwing two codes before today, but now it's throwing three more!! They are; 13, 21, 24, 44, and 53. I think it throws 53 because my EGR is blocked. 13 is "O2 sensor stay lean during warm engine cruise", 21 is "TPS high voltage", 24 is "VSS", 44 is "O2 sensor lean". My car feels like it's missing out and it has no power when I give it some gas. The SES light would come on when I stopped at a stoplight for a while, but when I gave it gas to go it went off. I love my car and I can't live without it. Please help.:hail:
the info i have is telling me that a code 13 could be a sticking tps also...
first off i would check to see if the tps is working properly and is adjusted correctly, it should be set to .54 - .56 volts when the car is at idle. that might clear up both the 13 and 21 codes...and after it has been adjusted, keep reading it while going to WOT to see if the volts jump or stick.
a code 24 is ur vehicle speed sensor...
this controls the speedo..i think...but i believe its on the back of the speedo..and you should check the connections for this first and see if that doesnt help..or replace the unit with a new one.
i think coe 44 is pretty obvious..the car is running lean and you should check to see what that could be caused by...ie vaccumm..low fuel pressure..etc... it might be tps related..and if u fix that then it could fix the 44 as i have seen rich and lean conditions pop up under some weird other conditions...
i hope this helps..i am by no means an expert but since nobody replied i thought i might try to give you some info that i can.

you might have to consider doing some trouble shooting. you most likely have one problem setting all the codes. make sure you have a good tune up. i'd ignore the o2 codes and start with the others and trouble shoot them. the tps would seem the likely place to start. good luck

I have a pretty good idea that it's the TPS, but mines in the carb, and I know it'll be a pain in the @$$. I was just hoping someone might have an alternative. I never had this problem with my old O2 sensor. I was thinking of putting it back in and see what happens. But it has atleast 100,000 mi on it.
The TPS in an E4ME is a little more troublesom to adjust, but it would be worth at least testing the output voltage to get your answer. If you only have to adjust it a little, you can sometimes "cheat" by bending the accellerator pump belcrank a bit.
