hello i am new to this forum and i would like to ask if anyone has any info on how to fix my speedo:
when i am in fith gear and i hit the gas it drops to zero... also i think it may be a little off i am not sure though??? it seems to work fine in the other 4 gears. if any one can help i would much apreciate it.

My car used to do that...
Go to the dealer and get the speedo driven gear housing, and a new gear to match whatever you have. The OE chinesium housing is letting the gear move away from the drive gear, because of wear; the reason it does it in 5th is that in that gear, the mainshaft (where the drive gear is located) is forced slightly away from the driven gear, too. The new housing is steel, a far superior piece to the crap they put in on the assembly line.

And to further complicate the matter, wouldn't Rob Zombie classify that as a "Demon Speedo"?
Also, I could be mistaken even more, but doesn't a '92 have the VSS at the trans, which means the VSS housing itself is used to retain the driven gear?
