bog bog bog.... hmmmm... im stumped
hey guys/gals, im new to this board but 3rd gen cars are my 2nd love (actually they are tied with my first) to my chevelle, i've owned 7-8 tpi cars and my latest i bougth for a friend, but i have problems,
89 gta 5.7 auto, 67k miles like new, problem is it idles a little eratic and i have a bog, BUT the bog is only in 3rd or 4th gear at cruise when i slightly increase the pedal and it hits 1800-2000rpm, if i hold the petal during the bog it will just stay not running and slow down, if i let off the petal it will come back to life, if i push the petal down more it will act as if it's wanting to run but like it has either no fuel, or it's been retarded 30*. i can not get it to do it under any other circumstances, just cruise in high gears, and under more load, if i romp it from a stop or from 30 etc. it will just go go go...
i've replaced, MAF,TPS,EGR,rebuilt distributor completely, checked for vac. leaks which i see none (haven't checked with pump, just spray technique). to no avail. the only thing im thinking it could be is somehow the fuel pressure regulator (being vac. controlled) is doing it. or maybe the whole computer?/???? im at my witts end. and figure someone here would know...
