brakes sticking and overheating is bad, right?

i've been having some issues with my brakes lately. my car sat for a year until i finally put an engine in a month ago. i drove it for 2 weeks until the tranny died, took two weeks to find, buy, and put it new tranny, and then i started to have trouble with the front pass. brake. it started severely overheating, it pulled so bad that if i let go of the wheel it would send me into the guardrail, and the steering wheel almost bounced out of my hands. i thought the caliper was stuck, so i bought new calipers and pads and put them in yesterday. drove 50 miles no problems, but i left my house today and drove 1 mile before i started smelling burning brakes! what could this be? a pinched brake line? evil gremlins living inside the caliper? i could really use some help here

some people loose there brakes due to the headers boiling the fluid, maybe you should wrap one or the other, tape is cheap is it probably worth it

BTW how do you like those dynomax headers????

If you front brakes are dragging, pulling and getting hot I would change the front flexible hoses first. I went through this two years ago and with help from people on this board got it sorted out. That have a habit of collapsing on the inside so they may look alright from the outside but still be the culprit.

the flexible lines never crossed my mind. i was concentrating too much on worrying that i somehow pinched a hard line while i was putting in the engine or transmission. when i get the core charge back for my calipers, i'll pick some up. they need to be replaced anyway.
those dynomax headers are ok, i guess. they came with the car, along with a fully welded mandrel bent custom exhaust. i might change them later, once they completely deteriorate. i got the car from a buddy who only drove with them on for about 10 months, then the car sat for a year. they look like they're about to rust through completely and collapse on me.
