For the past 6 months or so my car has been smoking at startup. Lately it was terrible. Well I finally set my mind to it and changed my valve seals using the rope method. (BTW everyone thanks for your help with that especially Ukrain Train) Well took me 3 days to do because of rain but i finally finished this morning. And after sitting 8 hours at work the car did not blow any smoke. Runs much better with the new plugs and valve springs to.

Glad to hear about it. Smoky startups, while they don't really hurt anything, are embarassing. That's one of those "feel good" repairs. I hate blowing smoke at startup, myself.

 

Yeah I park out in front of my university and i hated turning the car on because of the smoke. You know....females everywhere...anyways it does mess with your spark plugs. Whats crazy is after fixing them and changing the plugs the car calmed down alot. It did idle funny and make some real wierd noises that i thought was the exhaust...now its much better. Gas milage is awesome now to.
