Help with fans, in a hurry

Alright... well... I took and hooked my fans up straight to the battery and then to a switch in my car because they did not come on on their own. The switch deal was great, but now i've gotta switch them back to come on on their own, but i dont know how. Tracing the wiring was made impossible (oops), so how do i take it back to factory... thanks a lot, and i envy who can help me out.
